This year marked an exciting period of growth as we explored different topics & cases, launched new projects, and brought together voices from across industries.
UNWRAP Festival 2025 explored a variety of themes, including games, VFX, AI, animation, (game) tech, and music.
On Friday, November 7, we hosted Music Innovation Day, where musicians, artists, and developers came together to explore the latest insights in tech and music. It was a powerful demonstration of how creative minds can collaborate.

Once again, we welcomed over 2,500 visitors of all ages for a full day of fun at the UNWRAP Play Day.
The crowd had the chance to explore the many possibilities within the games ecosystem.
The event offered something for everyone, from adrenaline-pumping Esports tournaments, VR experiences, to Belgian indie games, Minecraft and SmartGames.
Play Day brought together a big, diverse crowd: children, teens, families, gamers, esports players, and curious newcomers alike.
It was a true celebration of gaming in all its forms!

The two UNWRAP Industry Days brought together professionals, entrepreneurs, and students from across the creative and tech industries. With over 500 visitors each day, attendees were inspired by insights from speakers on two stages.
On our stage was:

The evening of Nov. 5 brought a different kind of energy. ⚡ When the conference ended, the audience moved to the TRACK for the Show&Tell: UNWRAP Launch Party edition.
During the Show&Tell, eight Belgian developers who released their games in 2025 each had five minutes to showcase their work on the Big Screen in front of 230+ people.
Afterwards, the UNWRAP audience could playtest these Belgian games. A beer in one hand and a controller in the other!
It didn’t end there!
At 9 P.M., Childmasters.gif and Roomdivider immersed the audience in the world of music tech, presenting performances with audio-responsive visuals powered by StageVFX. StageVFX is founded by alumni from the Howest Digital Arts & Entertainment program).
The Career Fair added even more value to the venue!
Over 50 exhibitors (from indie studios to larger companies!), connected with 230+ international students across six disciplines, all looking for their next intern or employee. Using the MeetToMatch tool, conversations kept flowing and connections kept growing, as attendees were able to organise their own schedules during the festival.

The second Industry Day offered practical insights, and plenty of opportunities to connect!
Microsoft Xbox Game Camp joined the UNWRAP program, giving the UNWRAP crowd a look at how Xbox supports game developers and creators.
Followed by a relaxed networking reception (with free beers!).
It’s crazy how music and tech can merge! From live performances to panels and workshops, attendees explored how technology is reshaping the music industry. It was a day full of creativity, collaboration, and innovation.
The music industry is constantly evolving, with technology driving these changes.
